Alpha Automation

Automation design engineers specializing in the design, engineering,
production, installation, and maintenance of special purpose machines.
Based in Bradford & East Kilbride.

Working at Alpha from 1994 to 1999.

Working at Alpha was hectic but what a great experience! You could be working on several different projects for several different clients using multiple PLC’s all at the same time. The standard 40-hour week could easily morph into 80.

And because clients were varied, machines produced were specific and dedicated to a particular industry. This enabled my skills to be developed in machines that ranged from those that handled large engine block castings to machines that manipulated and assembled tiny delicate components.

A very privileged position to be in.

PLC’s and servo systems used while at Alpha included Mitsubishi A1S and FX series, Allen Bradley SLC500, B&R (Blue) 2005 & 2010, Omron C series, Siemens S5, Gem80 (Cegelec), Telemecanique TSX series, and Toshiba EX series, Parker, Baldor and Compax.

Below are a fraction of the machines I was involved with while at Alpha.
